Seaca is a commune situated in the north-west of the county Teleorman, at a distance of 50 km from the county residence, Alexandria, and 15 km from Alexandria.

It was first attested in 1741, but under another name. Even from the ancient times, the locals would grow vegetables and would sell them in the Markets in Turnu Magurele and Alexandria.

The main occupations of the locals are: agriculture, zooculture and touristic and sports fishing. The type of the lands encourages the cultivation of cereals, especially corn (80%), but also vegetable growing and winegrowing.

Main touristic objectives:

  •  The church „Inaltarea Domnului” in Seaca, historical monument.
  •  The church „Sf. Dioan Botezatorul”, built in 1821.
  • The Danube and the ponds and lakes that cover an area of 60 hectares.
