Ostroveni

The commune Ostroveni is situated in the south-east of the county Dolj, at a distance of 63 km from Craiova, the administrative centre of the county. It is composed by the villages Ostroveni and Listeava.

The commune is bordered by the town Bechet in the east, the Danube in the south, the village Sadova in the north and the village Zaval in the west.

The main occupation of the inhabitants of the commune is agriculture, more exactly animal raising and farming, mainly in individual households.

• The forest Zaval
• The church “Adormirea Maicii Domnului” (1796)
• The church “Sf. Nicolae” (1792)
• The church “Sfanta Treime” (1793)
• The archaeological site Listeava; the necropolis Listeava, situated in the point called “La Livezi”, at 2 km from the village Listeava, around a precipice.
