Geographic Location: Ion Corvin Commune is situated in the South-Eastern part of the Constanta County, 79 km far from the Constanta City and 36 km far from Cernavoda, its neighbours being: in the North part the Danube River, in West the Commune Dobromir, Baneasa Town in South and Adamclisi Commune in East.
Composition: Ion Corvin, as administrative seat, and the villages: Viile, Raristea, Crangu and Brebeni;
Access ways: the National Road DN 3;
Activities Specific To The Area: Agriculture, Animal Breading, Bee Kipping, Vegetables Growing.
Tourist Objectives:
- The Commune Ion Corvin is situated in a small depression situated in the South-Eastern part of the Oltina Tableland, dominated by limestone hills 170-180 m high and in the crossing of some important road ways; the commune is also known by the natives and tourists due to the Monastery and Grotto of Sfantul Andrei (Saint Andrew), existent on this territory. The Grotto is considered as the first veneration sanctuary in Romania (attested in 60 after Christ) and here is the place where the Saint Andrew the Apostle was spreading the Christian believes to the Dacian-Roman population. Near the Grotto there are the springs of water our ancestors were baptized with.
- 1 km far from the Grotto there is the Fountain of Mihai Eminescu, built in memoriam of the great Romanian poet in 1929.
- The existence of the places favourable for the establishing tourist chalets in the Danube River area.
Local Events: on the 26th of October, the Flight Festival;
- on the 30th of November – The Dedication day of “Sfantul Andrei” Monastery.
