Gura Padinii is situated in Olt County, in the South-West region of the country, Oltenia, on the banks of the Danube, on the West side of the city Corabia. The commune is composed by two villages: Gura Padinii (residence of the commune) and Satu Nou.

Main touristic objectives:

  • The Church Sfantu Dumitru (1838)
  •  A necropolis from the Iron Age, from the 7th - 6th Century BC, was discovered in Gura Padinii, where urns, cups, fragments of swords, harness parts where discovered, and in 1962 a thesaurus of silver coins, consisting of 232 Roman Republican denari dating from the period 211-208 and 32-31 BC and a drachma from Alexander the Great's times.
