Gogosu is a commune situated in Mehedinti county which includes the villages Balta Verde, Burila Mică, Gogoşu, Ostrovu Mare. It was attested in 1607, when half of the village belonged to the great cupbearer Stolnicu.
Main touristic objectives:
- The roman settlement 3rd and 4th cent. AD Campul Deciului, between the villages Balta Verde and Izvoarele
Events:
- Fair on the 29th June, in Gogosu and Burila Mica
- Weekly fair on Friday.
