Geographic location: The Facaieni Commune is situated in the East of Ialomita County, the administrative territory being bordered by the communes Vladeni (in North), Movila (in West), Balta Ialomitei (in East) and Bordusani (in South).
The settlement has a geographic contact and intersection position. The administrative area belongs to a campaign unit named Baraganul Festisului (Campul Hagieni – Hagieni Field) and to the valley sectors (The Valley of the Danube River, the Valley of the Ialomita River). The Commune administrative territory covers 24.000 ha, more than a half being situated inside the dyke system built between the Danube River and Borcea Branch.
The locality is situated on the down stream of the Danube River, respectively the Borcea Branch, an important shipping water course of Central Europe.
The settlement was for the first time mentioned by a document of Voivode Radu cel Frumos dated in 1467, with other neighboring villages (Stelnica, Bordusani, Vladeni).
Based on the archeological discoveries (there are three reservation areas on the commune territory) it was possible to certify that the area was inhabited as early as the 4th Century b. C.
Area specific activities: Vegetable growing, fishing.

The agro tourism is encouraged by the opportunity of fishing on Ialomita Pond and Borcea Branch and also by the hunting fond present in the area.
