The commune, which is formed by the villages Coronini and Sfanta Elena, is the newest romanian colony in Clisura Dunarii and is situated at 6 km from Moldova Noua.

Main touristic objectives:

Near Coronini, the Danube has dug its way through Mesozoic limestone. In the limestone wall, on the Romanian bank there is a cave called "Gaura cu Musca" where travertine dams and stalactites can be seen.
In the clough Pescari Alibeg, there is another cave called Gaura Chindiei, archaeological reservation where traces of rupestral art from the Palaeolithic and the Neolithic where discovered, and also traces from the Dacian and Proto-Dacian period.

At the eastern end of the village, in the middle of the Danube, there is a rock called by the locals Baba Caia. The inhabitants have many legends about the rock: they tell about a lord who bonded his unfaithful wife to the rock, in order to punish her.

The ruins of the fortress Saint Ladislau called by the locals Cula, are situated on the hill Cula. The fortress was built in the 15th cent. in order to protect the country against the Turkish invasions.

The village Sfanta Elena, situated at a distance of 5 km from Coronini, is the oldest village having Czech inhabitants in Clisura Dunarii. Many caverns can be seen in the village. The Rock partridge and the horned viper have their habitat here. Another interesting thing about the village is the peculiar way of functioning of the Czech households.
