Ciupercenii Noi is a commune in the county Dolj, composed of two villages, situated in the Danube meadow.

The archaeological explorations revealed the existence of various human settlements from the 3rd – 1st century BC, fact that confirms the theory that these lands where inhabited even from the ancient times. The commune was first attested in 1883.

The place was declared a natural reservation in 1972. It is an ornithic reservation, where 140 species of birds live, on a surface of 500 hectares.

Another reservation existing in the commune is that of Oltenica locus trees, characterised by very high and forthright logs, and a great quantity of wood per log.
