Geographical location: In the south-west of the Calarasi County, 3 km far from the Danube, 5 km far from the Oltenita Municipality, 60 km far from the Bucharest Municipality, on the right side of the Arges River.

Specific occupations: Agriculture – extended cereal crops – maize, sun-flower crops, Vegetable growing, Wine growing, Animal husbandry, Fruit growing

Main economic activities: Agriculture, Trade, Manufacturing industry, Miller’s trade and bakery

Tourist attractions: Cişmeaua Mare (Gumelniţa ruins), the beach at the Danube, Pădurea Tufele Grecului (the Greek’s Bushes Forest), Saint Nicholas Church, “Stupinele” Church, Historical monuments, Archaeological sites, the left side of the Danube
