Sandrovo is a village on the banks of the Danube in northern Bulgaria, Ruse Municipality, Ruse District. It is located 16 km east of the Ruse centre, 3 km in the same direction in Marten, 8 km west of Slivo pole and 266 km northeast of Sofia.
The old name of the village is Taban: a flat smooth area in relation to the flat nature of its terrain. It lasted until 1934 when it was renamed to Sandrovo: diminutive name of Prince Alexander Battenberg - Sandro.
Initially the site was inhabited by Thracians in the 1st century. Later Romans settled in it. In the 7th century, Proto-Bulgarians and Slavs migrated and they gradually mixed with the local population.
The village has two clothing companies, two chicks, eight stores and a company for bottling of sunflower oil.
The village has: a Church, a Community centre "Vasil Levski" (built in 1959), a health service, a Kindergarten (1976), a School (1933) and a Stadium (1958).
