Dunavtsi is small town in northwestern Bulgaria and is part of Vidin Municipality, Vidin District. It was formed in 1955 through the merger of the villages of Vidbol and Gurkovo, today town neighbourhoods. Later, in 1974, it is declared as town. It is located on the main danubian road from Vidin to Lom (9 km from Vidin) and there is the deviation towards Sofia (totally 142 km from Sofia).

There is assumption that on the area of the present town was localized the Dernavcel Roman fortress.

The cultural institutions are: Community centre and Library.

The local economy is represented by a fodder factory. The specialization of the town is in the production of vegetables, fruits and grapes.

There are good possibilities for fishing, ecotourism, camping, swimming etc. East of the town is the Bozhuritsa recreation area.
