Géderlak is a tiny settlement lying at the north-western boundary of the Sárköz of Kalocsa and located a couple of kilometres away from the banks of River Danube. Its founders were French monks settled in Hungary in the territory of the Kalocsa archsee in the 12th century. The village can be approached on Road 51, from the direction of Kalocsa or Dunapataj. It is connected with Paks on the opposite side of the Danube by a ferry service operating all through the year. On the other side of the river operates a port, too, from where pleasure boats cruise on the winding Danube. Cycle track EUROVELO 6 crosses Géderlak, too.

Whoever has already been in Géderlak, first remembers the flowers, the well-kept gardens and parks. The major touristic sight of the village is the settlement itself because the locals fascinate visitors with their neat houses, clean streets and arranged parks and, last but not least, with the pomp of flowers covering everything. In 2001 the village was the national winner of the environment beautifying competition called „Virágos Magyarországért” (For the Flowery Hungary) and a year later it won a gold medal for Hungary in the competition „Európai Virágos Városok és Falvak” (Europe in Bloom).

The peasant baroque style having spread in the region can be found in Géderlak, as well. In addition to several buildings of the village, its new sports hall was also built in this style. The single local monument, the Catholic church named after Saint Leslie, is located opposite to the sports hall. The May picnic and village-day organised every year are held in the memorial park of the Millennium. A café, a beer-house and a guest house operate in the settlement.
