Dunakiliti

The village is to be found in Felső-Szigetköz (Upper Szigetköz), not far from where Öreg-Duna (Old Danube) and Mosoni-Duna (Duna of Moson) separate. It can be approached on Road 1 and Motorway M1, by turning off at Mosonmagyaróvár towards Feketeerdő. The settlement lies very near to the Hungarian-Slovak and Hungarian-Austrian borders. Earlier, there were arborescent watercourses in the territory of the spreading village. Its today's structure developed on the turn of the 19^th and 20^th centuries. The water retaining works started to be constructed but never finished at the border of Dunakiliti would have been one of the units of the Bős-Nagymaros Barrage System. From the water retaining works that can be visited with a guide a beautiful view opens to Felső-Szigetköz.

In the village the Batthyány family had a baroque palace built in the middle of the 19^th century. This is where Dr. Batthyány-Strattmann László, the doctor of the poor, was born. He was beatified in 2003. His life is presented in 2 memorial rooms of the Batthyány Palace. Not far from here, in Kossuth Lajos utca, a 5-star palace hotel awaits guests. To the newly built palace furnished with antique pieces of furniture a 9-hole golf course belongs, which course can be visited not only by the guests of the hotel. Here horse riding and travelling in a horse carriage are also possible. A four-star hotel offering a wide selection of wellness treatments is located on the bank of River Danube. 

However, the special natural environment of the town is considered to be the most significant attraction of Dunakiliti. The varied archipelago of Szigetköz and Csallóköz attracts to the settlement water tourers and those desiring to rest. In addition to organising land and water tours, Felső-Szigetközi Szabadidő és Vízi Sport Egyesület (Upper Szigetköz Leisure and Water Sports Association) also ensures accommodation with different levels of convenience for tourers. In their camp next to Öreg-Duna water devices (kayaks, canoes, motor boats) and bicycles can be rented. Anglers can find waters particularly rich in fish in both branches of the Danube.
