Dunafalva can be found on the left bank of River Danube, in Bács-Kiskun County. It lies 20 km southwest from Baja and 17 km northeast from Mohács. By road it can be approached by turning off Road 51. Its connection with Dunaszekcső of Baranya County is ensured by a ferry service, thanks to which Road 56, too, is in reachable proximity.

A significant part of the village belongs to the Duna-Dráva Nemzeti Park (Danube-Drava National Park) and to the Béda-Karapancsai Tájvédelmi Körzet (Béda-Karapancsa Landscape Protection Area). The undisturbed environment provides an excellent opportunity for hiking all through the year. In the summertime a camp site and a snack-counter operate on the bank of the Danube, to which a beach developed with sandbanks and reefs belongs. Visitors can not only angle but also hunt in the nearby woods.

Once there used to be a Roman port fortress called contra Florentina in the territory of Dunafalva. The port fortress named Lugio and later on Florentina, to which also a civil settlement belonged,  lied on the opposite bank of the Danube (today the village is called Dunaszekcső). The duty of the two fortresses was to protect Pannonia and to secure the commercial routes leading towards Dacia. The joint event of these two settlements is the Lugio Days and the international Limes Camp belonging to it. The goal of the irregular series of programs is presenting the ancient culture. Thematic places await visitors, where they can become familiar with the equipages, gastronomy, clothing and music of the Roman era. The atmosphere of the event is enhanced by the multitude of people dressed in period costumes and performing a military process in Dunafalva in the vicinity of the remaining Roman ruins.
