Decs can be found in the south-western part of Tolna County, 10 km away from River Danube. It can be approached on Motorway M6 or on Road 6 to Szekszárd and from there turning off Road 56. By rail it can be reached on the Sárbogárd-Szekszárd-Bátaszék line. The settlement is also known as the "Capital of Sárköz" offering a whole lot of sights for tourists interested in folk heritages.

The village is famous for its richly decorated traditional costumes having the oldest forms of our country and made of the most expensive fabrics. French silk and velvet were used for preparing the skirts and pearl was an important accessory. These decorative clothes appeared in the 19th century when the fertile arable lands having become free for cultivation due to land drainage suddenly brought richness to the inhabitants of the village. This prosperity also appears in the architecture of the village and the furniture of the homes, which you can become familiar with in the Tájház (Country House) of Decs. In the shop next to the Country House you can choose from the products of folk artists and folk industrial artists. The village can boast of several exhibition places. In the Faluház (Village House) you can see the typical pieces of the traditional local costumes and the utensils the people living in Sárköz used in their everyday life. The Babamúzeum (Doll Museum) keeps more than 100 handmade dolls clad in traditional costumes. 4 km away from Decs, in the natural scientific showroom of the Cserenci Vadászkastély (Cserenc Hunting-seat), trophies and fishing and hunting relics are exhibited. A game preserve operates near the hunting-seat.

Decs is part of the historical Szekszárd vine land; the leaved bunch of grapes implying winemaking can be found even in the coat of arms of the village. Wine-tasting is organised in many of the vineyards of the neighbouring hills. Decs can boast of even two wine route stations where you can taste local food specialities, as well. Each year, Sárközi Lakodalmas (Sárköz Wedding Feast), a joint event of the six villages of the region, is organised in the settlement. Its major attraction is the procession with the participation of the "young couple" and the wedding-party completed with onlookers. The series of events lasting for several days features national and foreign folk dance ensembles and skilled performers of different crafts.
