Áporka is located in Pest county, right between Dunavarsány and Kiskunlacháza along Road 51, just a few kilometers from the River Danube. Summer houses built in a row along the riverbank welcome their guests under the shade of trees. Visitors may easily encounter wild ducks, cormorants, skuas, and swans. Cseke Island is a popular angling paradise with an intimate atmosphere.

The Reformed church of the village was built in 1785 in the classicist style. Standing right next to it, the Village Museum displays the relics of the last 100 years of the settlement’s history. The village is known for its wood carving traditions, but this soon becomes obvious to the visitor passing the cemetery with its carved grave posts. There are still many artisans living in the village. Áporka offers cultural programmes that attract visitors even from the neighbouring settlements. For 16 years now, the first weekend in July welcomes locals and their guests to the Village Days of Áporka with performances of nationally known artists. Every Saturday between July 20 and August 20, the events of the Summer Night Music programme series await the general public in the intimate atmosphere of the church garden. Year after year, vintage processions and open-fire cooking contests are also organised.
