Kyselica is a village in Rye Island, in southwestern Slovakia, in the district of Dunajská Streda. It lies on the Danube Plain, on the left side of the Danube Water Work Gabčíkovo, 27 km east from Bratislava. The village is easily accessible from Bratislava and Dunajská Streda with suburban services. The nearest railway station is in Veľká Paka, 8 km away.

It is one of the oldest settlements as it was mentioned in a historic document from 1205.

The name Keseulces known from 1323 might have been derived from the acid spring (kyslý in Slovak means acid) or the acid grass growing around the village.

Kyselica was annexed to Vojka nad Dunajom in 1940 and again separated 1981 when the feeding channel of the Danube was constructed. The two separated villages of Vojka and Kyselica are now connected by ferry.

There leads a cycling track by the village. Tourists have the opportunity to try agrotouristics and horse-riding.

Sights:

  • The Neo-Classical Roman Catholic church of St. Rozália, built in 1898.

There are pensions and pub in the village.
