Moča is a village in Slovakia in the district of Komárno. It lies on the Danube Plain, 22 km east of Komárno. The village is easily accessible from Komárno with suburban services. The nearest railway station is in Gbelce, 16 km away.
The village is an archaeological locality. The found documents about the settlement are from the Neolithic, Lower Bronze Age, Roman-Barbarian and Slavic periods. The first reference to the village as villa Moch is from 1208. Part of the village belonged to the Báthory family from the 16th century, and then it was plundered by the Turks. The villagers lived by farming, viticulture, fishing and haulage. The guild of the local millers was mentioned in 1821. Eighteen mills worked on the Danube near Moča until 1945.There are huge vineyards in the mountains with typical buildings, where vintage wine is made.
The village has ideal conditions for the development of water tourism. One can visit the local Fisherman’s Tavern and the local beaches.
