Jarovce is a part of Bratislava in the Bratislava district V. It is located in the southwestern part of the Transdanubian part of Bratislava between Rusovce and Petržalka near the border of Austria. Part of the city is easily accessible from Bratislava via public transport. The nearest railway station of personal transport in Rusovce is 3 km away.
The first recorded document of Jarovce is in the donation document of King Andrew II. from 1208. The village is part of Slovakia since 1947, when it was agreed with Hungary to be attached to Czechoslovakia (with Rusovce and Čunovo). The reason to it was the construction of the Danube port of Bratislava. At that time the village was inhabited mostly by Croatian population. Although much of the current population is committed to maintaining the nationality and language of their ancestors and folk customs. Jarovce is part of Bratislava since 1972.
