Dobrohošť is a village in Rye Island, in southwestern Slovakia, in the district of Dunajská Streda. The village is situated between the old riverbed of the Danube and the newly built artificial channel, about 20 km south of Bratislava. Access is possible through new roads from Bratislava, towards the border of Hungary, from the direction of Gabčíkovo through the hydroelectric dam, or by crossing the river by ferry from Kyselica. The village is easily accessible from Bratislava with suburban services. The nearest railway station is in Bratislava - Petržalka, 25 km away.

One of the oldest settlements of Rye Island is Dobrohošť. The still not precisely defined “pagan” barrows in the environs of the village document very old settlement of this place.

It was first mentioned under the name Doborgoz in the document from 1237 when it was owned by Bratislava Castle. The village and a part of its administrative territory was owned by Jakub Svätojurský from the end of the 13th century. Old documents mentioned a church in the village, but it did not exist anymore in the 19th century.

Poor villagers tried to live on gold washing in the past. Basket-making is the craft with long tradition in this village.

This region is more and more popular due to water touristics and recreation possibilities.

The paved and well maintained international Danube bicycle path, one of Europe’s most significant bicycle routes runs on top of the levy above the reservoir.

Popular is the annual food festival "The Secret of Dobrohosť care."

-      In the area there is a Protected landscape area Danube floodplains, suitable for hiking.

There is restaurant, pub and food shop in the village.
